Rules

Our philosophy

The continuous development of all players and ages by using fast, aggressive skating, fast puck movement, individual player creativity, and great goaltending showdowns.  The goal is to target individual skill and confidence by playing at a high pace.

To all coaches, please use the “end of the line rule,” that means no double shifting, — all participants play equally no matter his/her skill level.  A shift length should be no longer than 40 sec to 1:00 min — coaches, please use this as a benchmark.

Coaches please note: depending on ice conditions after U9/U11games, there may be no flood, please have your team ready to go. LET THE ARENA ATTENDANT KNOW

Rules

1.  Games will be 45:00 minutes long, with a quick warm-up and 2 minutes at the end of the game for a shootout (penalties). The scorekeepers (PARENT VOLUNTEERS) will put 40:00 minutes on the clock and run straight time. There will be a 3-minute ice buffer.

2. After every goal is scored, the team that just scored must retreat over the red line before attacking.  When a goaltender covers the puck the opposing team must retreat to the closest blue-line

Hint: Teams that have just been scored on must regroup quickly and break out of the zone quickly before the opposing team forechecks.

3. If the team that just scored does not have all their players clear the red line or blue-line, a penalty shot will be giving to the other team, this will be taking at the end of the game.

4. Blue line offsides will be called; the team that went off-side must retreat to the red line.

5. Icing will be called from the far blue line, the team that ice the puck must retreat to the red line.

6. All penalties will result in a penalty shot. (CHA rules- penalty shot).  The player who the penalty was infringed upon will take the shot.  The penalty shot will occur immediately. After a penalty, a face-off will occur.

9. All calls made by the referee are final.

10.  Absolutely NO BODY CHECKING — this will result in an automatic ejection from the game and/or league.
